Although not a formally trained artist, I have learnt some extremely valuable lessons in technique, colour, medium and form over the past 20 years, which got me to where I am now through a journey of collaboration, courses and generally studying the artists whose work makes me feel connected.
As art is such an ambiguous medium, it is always down to how the viewer perceives the work, and what they may take away from the subject matter. I have tended to look to society, politics and our deep spiritual souls to gain my inspiration. I also like to work with life models, as to me the human form is the beginning of all creativity.
My mantra is ‘don’t be attached to the outcome’ which for me allows expressive work to come forward in flow.
I have exhibited in St Barbe Museum, Lymington open exhibitions, Coastal Gallery, Lymington, The Local Art Scene, Lymington and have an online presence. I have been involved in pop up galleries across Hampshire over the past 3 years (excluding the Covid year!) and participated in the Hampshire Open Studios.
